Oneida High School
Oneida City School District
Capital Improvements Project
Oneida, NY
As part of a $5.5 million Capital Improvements Project at the Oneida High School, Bell & Spina performed several renovations and additions including:
- Addition to the High School Gymnasium: A double bowed truss was used as the structure for the gymnasium roof, giving the appearance of a wing suspended between the two short end walls of the gym. The gym was the AISC National Winner of the Award of Excellence for a project designed where structural steel forms a prominent architectural feature of the building.
- Renovations to the Auditorium: Refurbishment of existing seating, new stage lighting with digital control system, new stage public address system and assisted listening system.
- Addition/Renovation of Cafeteria/Study Hall: Serving line and kitchen capacities were doubled to create an environment that invited students to eat, gather, and study during non-lunch hours.
- Renovations to Laboratories: Improvements to interior lab/teaching spaces that surpassed NYS Department of Education requirements.
- Renovation to Library: Library was increased to three times is original size not including the computer lab and workroom. The 24 lab computers were networked to the library server and the guidance department, district offices and local BOCES.
